WHAT WE BELIEVE

Trinity.jpg

The Trinity

We believe in one triune God. He is eternal and exists in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person being eternal, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift from God, made possible by the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Salvation is offered to all of mankind and is brought by grace and received by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 1:12; Eph. 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 John 1:9)

Gods Word.jpg

god’s word

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the inspired Word of God. The Word of God is inerrant, infallible, God-breathed, and the final authority in all matters. The 66 books of the Bible are complete and a divine revelation of God to man. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)

The church

1. We believe that the local church, which is the body and the espoused bride of Christ, is solely made up of born-again persons. (1 Cor. 12:12-14; Eph. 1:22-23; 5:25-27) 2. We believe in the autonomy of the local church, free of any external authority or control. (Rom. 16:1, 4; 1 Cor. 3:9, 16; 1 Pet. 5:1-4) 3. We recognize water baptism and the Lord’s Supper as the Scriptural ordinances of the church. Baptism will only be administered under the authority of the church and by immersion. (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; 18:18; 1 Cor. 11:23-26)

JESUS CHRIST

1. We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Jesus was born of a virgin and became a man, without ceasing to be God, in order to live a sinless life, reveal God to mankind, and redeem sinful men with His death on the cross. (John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19-21; Phil. 2:5-8) 2. We believe that Jesus Christ accomplished the redemption of mankind through His death on the cross. He willingly became our substitutionary sacrifice, and thereby paid for the sins of mankind. Our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. (Rom. 3:24-25; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5) 3. We believe that Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God. He fulfills the role of our High Priest, Intercessor, and Advocate. (Acts 1:9-10; Heb. 9:24)

baptism

Baptism doesn’t make you a believer - it shows that you already believe. Baptism does not “save” you, only your faith in Christ “saves” you. Baptism is like a wedding ring – it’s the outward symbol of the commitment you made in your heart.
